Start Up Grants are available to child care providers who are in the process of getting licensed. These grants are specifically for items that are required by the licensor or fire marshal in order for you to get licensed. You need documentation from the licensor or fire marshal to show that the items you are requesting are required. Frequently Asked Questions: What kinds of things can I apply for? You can apply for items that are required by your licensor or fire marshal in order for you to get licensed. You need documentation from the licensor or fire marshal to show that the items you are requesting are required. If I am awarded a grant, how will I receive the money? All grants are paid on a reimbursement basis. You will be reimbursed only for purchases made after the date of the award letter. You cannot apply for items you have already purchased. If I receive a grant, are there any requirements that I have to meet? Yes. You will be required to complete a certain amount of training.
